Child Benefit for Building: Available from 18.09.2018

The time has come, from 09/18/2018 the Baukindergeld can be applied for.

All families who have bought or built a house this year can apply for the Baukindergeld. This government subsidy is available to families and single parents with children under 18 years of age and does not need to be repaid. The household income with one child must not exceed 90,000 euros per year, and for each additional child, the income limit increases by 15,000 euros.

Another requirement for the payment is that they signed the purchase contract or building permit in 2018, and the new residential property is the only residential real estate.

If the conditions are met, a subsidy of 1,200 euros per year and child is paid over a period of up to 10 years. It is important that the property is continuously used as a personal residence for 10 years to receive the full subsidy.
