Registration for the Webinar

On Tuesday, 25th June, our teacher webinar will take place.

What does it mean to be a young carer?

In Germany, there are about 480,000 children and adolescents who take on responsibilities daily that far exceed their age. They care for sick or dependent relatives, take on household tasks, and provide emotional support to their families. These young people are Young Carers – a role they undertake with pride, but also at great personal sacrifice.

Understanding the Challenges

Young carers face a double burden: they fulfill their duties at home while at the same time trying to meet the demands of school. This responsibility can lead to emotional and physical exhaustion, increase social isolation, and impact their own education and future opportunities.

How can teachers support?

Teachers play a crucial role in the lives of young carers. Through understanding, flexibility, and targeted support, they can make a difference. Awareness of the unique needs of these students creates a learning environment that empathetically addresses their situation and supports them in the best possible way.

Our Commitment - Together for Young Carers

• Goal: Teachers are made aware of the themes and specific challenges faced by caregiving children and adolescents.

• How: We offer a one-hour webinar followed by the opportunity for exchange.

• Who: The project is conducted by qualified famPLUS employees from care consulting.
